The mathematics of origami
Origami is a widespread art form gaining popularity among mathe- maticians for its remarkable ability to perform geometric constructions. This article provides a brief introduction to the mathematical aspects of origami and shows how origami can be used to perform two well- known constructions, angle trisection and doubling the cube, which are impossible to solve using only the compass and the straight edge.
